There are certain people throughout church history that have stood out for their devotion to God. These people are often called saints. Roman Catholics and Protestants disagree on who is and how one becomes a saint but there is an interest in such people across traditions.

A Short reader of Medieval Saints is a collection of primary texts describing the life and experience of a number of saints, edited by Mary-Ann Stouck.
While each figure is known as a saint, they are all different. Some are known for self-denial, some for acts of charity and some for visions, but all for an all-consuming dedication to God.
I will admit that as a Protestant, I don’t fully understand some of the decisions such saints made. I will also admit that I didn’t really enjoy the book. It was not any error on the editor’s part, as it was just a collection of older texts. But this is just a topic that is not my main interest. But for those who are drawn to these saints, this will be a valuable resource.
